The “Up” ride
STOP PRESS: (January 2018) It is with great regret that we have to inform everyone that this event has been cancelled for 2018. Entries and/or enquiries were simply not forthcoming – not even for a social ride or Tour, and even after moving the event date to its original spot in the second quarter of the year. Perhaps you need more time to get fit for a 247 km event, or you are already doing other endurance MTB events this year? If you would like us to keep you posted re 2019, please drop us an email!

Check Point Boxes
All participants are entitled to two complimentary check point boxes, one for Check Point 1 and one for Check Point 3, which will be delivered and collected by the race organisation, for riders not using their own supporters at CP1 and CP3.
Please take careful note of the following important information:
Boxes can be collected from either of the registration venues (pre-registration during the week, or on Friday 4 May 2018 from Kaleo during registration,).
Boxes must be handed back to the race organisers during registration at Kaleo on Friday 4 May 2018, or between 05h30 and 06h00 on Saturday 5 May 2018 at the start line at Kaleo.
The box delivery vehicle will be departing from the start venue at 06h15 sharp.
No liquids may be placed in the boxes.
All boxes will be delivered to the Sutherland finish venue after the last rider has cleared Check Point 3. Participants must please ensure that they collect their boxes from the finish line on 5 May 2018.
DON’T PLAN TO HAND YOUR BOXES IN AT THE LAST MINUTE AS YOU MAY JUST MISS THE TRUCK AND THEN RUN THE RISK OF NOT HAVING SUPPORT ALONG THE WAY.
Each solo participant, or each team of two riders, may have a vehicle that provides backup services at the two specified service points along the route (Check Point 1 and Check Point 3 on the “up” ride).
Service vehicles must follow the prescribed alternate routes and may not under any circumstances drive on the actual event route.
Any individual or team found to be receiving support from their support vehicle outside of the designated areas will be disqualified. Service vehicles found driving on the route will cause their riders to be disqualified.
